St Joseph’s School Council
St Josephs school council is a group of pupils from years 2 to 6, who are elected by their peers to represent them and their views.
St Joseph’s school council members have helped to make decisions about how to encourage children to use their scooter to travel to school and supporting fundraising events such as a book sale and second hand uniform sale.
Why have a school council?
Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) says that children and young people should have a say in decisions that affect their lives. Our school council provides a meaningful way in which pupils can voice their opinions and have their views taken into account in decisions which impact upon them.
Our school council aims to improve different aspects of school life and provides leadership and development opportunities for pupils.
